Leviticus 11:29
'And this is to you the unclean among the teeming things which are teeming on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after its kind,Ko e veesi ni 'i he māmani mo'oni
'I he ngaahi lea fē
- חֹלֶדchôleda weasel (from its gliding motion)
- צָבtsâba palanquin or canopy (as a fixture); also a species of lizard (probably as clinging fast)
- עַכְבָּרʻakbâra mouse (as nibbling)
- שָׁרַץshâratsto wriggle, i.e. (by implication) swarm or abound
- שֶׁרֶץsheretsa swarm, i.e. active mass of minute animals
- טָמֵאṭâmêʼfoul in a religious sense
- אֶרֶץʼeretsthe earth (at large, or partitively a land)
Ko e ngaahi lea faka-Hepelū mo e faka-Kalisi 'oku tu'u 'i he tu'a 'o e veesi ni. 'E ha'u 'a e fakahoa lea-ki-he-lea mo e liliu lea-ki-he-lea.
