แต่โยอาชได้ตอบคนที่มาฟ้องนั้นว่า “ท่านทั้งหลายจะเป็นพยานแทนพระบาอัลหรือ จะสู้ความแทนหรือ ผู้ใดที่เป็นทนายแทนพระบาอัลจะต้องถูกประหารชีวิตเช้านี้แหละ ถ้าพระบาอัลเป็นพระแท้ก็ให้สู้คดีเองเถิด เพราะมีคนมาพังแท่นของท่านลง”
