ครั้นสิ้นเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้แล้วเปาโลได้ตั้งใจว่า เมื่อไปทั่วแคว้นมาซิโดเนียกับแคว้นอาคายาแล้วจะเลยไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และพูดว่า “เมื่อข้าพเจ้าไปที่นั่นแล้ว ข้าพเจ้าจะต้องไปเห็นกรุงโรมด้วย”
