และอับเนอร์ทูลดาวิดว่า “ข้าพระองค์จะลุกขึ้นกลับไป และจะรวบรวมคนอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นมายังกษัตริย์เจ้านายของข้าพระองค์ เพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะกระทำพันธสัญญากับพระองค์ และเพื่อพระองค์จะทรงปกครองให้กว้างขวางตามชอบพระทัยของพระองค์” ดาวิดก็ทรงส่งอับเนอร์กลับไป และเขาก็ไปโดยสันติภาพ
