ดังที่โมเสสผู้รับใช้ของพระเยโฮวาห์บัญชาประชาชนอิสราเอล ตามที่จารึกไว้ในหนังสือพระราชบัญญัติของโมเสสว่า “แท่นบูชาทำด้วยหินมิได้ตกแต่ง ซึ่งไม่มีผู้ใดใช้เครื่องมือเหล็กถูกต้องเลย” แล้วเขาก็ถวายเครื่องเผาบูชาแด่พระเยโฮวาห์บนแท่นนั้น และถวายสันติบูชา
