Jehu of Israel paid tribute to Assyria in 841 BC — a date fixed independently of the Bible, and one that anchors the chronology of Israel's kings.

A four-sided limestone monument of Shalmaneser III with carved registers of tribute-bearers. One panel shows a man prostrate before the Assyrian king, captioned as tribute from "Jehu, son of Omri". It is very likely the only surviving contemporary image of an Israelite king.
Tribute of Jehu, son of Omri: silver, gold, a golden bowl, a golden vase, golden cups, golden buckets, tin, a staff for the king, and spears.

"Son of Omri" is an Assyrian dynastic label for the kingdom, not a claim of literal descent — Jehu overthrew Omri's house. The identification of the figure as Jehu himself, rather than an envoy, is likely but not certain.
