Leviticus 14:6
as to the living bird, he taketh it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and hath dipped them and the living bird in the blood of the slaughtered bird, over the running water,Ko e veesi ni 'i he māmani mo'oni

- צִפּוֹרtsippôwra little bird (as hopping)
- שָׁנִיshânîycrimson, properly, the insect or its color, also stuff dyed with it
- תּוֹלָעtôwlâʻthe crimson-grub, but used only (in this connection) of the colorfrom it, and cloths dyed
- אֶרֶזʼereza cedar tree (from the tenacity of its roots)
- שָׁחַטshâchaṭto slaughter (in sacrifice or massacre)
- עֵץʻêtsa tree (from its firmness); hence, wood (plural sticks)
