That place, Fair Havens Harbour, was not a good place to stay in the cold weather time, so most of the people on the ship reckoned we had to leave there and go on a bit further, to a town called Phoenix, and stay there for the cold weather time. The harbour at Phoenix was all right. It was open to the sea in 2 directions, but the strong winds didn’t blow in those directions in the cold weather time.
